A well-rounded program to support you and your student.
Based in the Suzuki Method, our program is designed to fully support both the student and parent in learning violin.
Dr. Shinichi Suzuki believed every child has the ability to learn. Talent is not innate, but developed through learning and practice. I approach my lessons with this same belief –- that everyone, child or adult, has the potential to learn violin if given the right tools.
During lessons, I create an inviting, comfortable and fun environment for my students to learn. My teaching emphasizes technique and musicality. Lessons incorporate Dr. Suzuki’s observation that talent must be nurtured, both in the lesson and at home. For that reason, parents attend all lessons and are active partners in the student’s learning.

Weekly private lessonsWeekly private lessons are tailored to your student's learning. We cover technique, musicality and steadily work towards your child's goals. Whether playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star or a more advanced concerto, I encourage students to develop a relationship to the music they are playing.
We also teach adults. |
Group lessons every other weekChildren learn from one another. Group classes create a welcoming atmosphere for students to inspire one another, review old pieces, try out new skills and celebrate their learning. We also cover some music theory, history and play games to spark our creativity as musicians.

Monthly parent meetingsParents are an integral part of the learning process. The parent program will help build a community among parents and to support you in your role as practice partner (in an age appropriate way). The group will meet virtually in hopes of making it easier for you to attend without your child.
